8-year-old boy returns wallet with $1,700 in New York

An 8-year-old boy from New York State is receiving praise after returning a wallet full of money he found in New York City that belonged to the victim of a crime.

Brian Burns found a wallet with $1,700 inside him on Saturday as he prepared for a Gaelic football game in the Bronx, the WCBS-TV reported. The fourth-grade student from Washingtonville, in Orange County, did not hesitate to hand the wallet to his father.

Using the ID card inside, the family was able to find the purse owner. The man had just been discharged after a robbery.

The victim had lost his wallet after the attack and needed the money to pay the rent.
